What is Earthing And Why Everyone Should Try It

We’ve always known the inherent value of spending time in nature whether it be taking a walk outdoors, getting our hands dirty in the garden, or simply stopping to savor the sights and sounds of nature all around us.

What you may not know is this actually has a name called earthing, also known as grounding. And there is numerous scientific evidence to back up why reconnecting with nature makes us feel so good.

What is earthing?

Earthing: refers to contact with the Earth’s surface electrons by walking barefoot outside which transfers the energy from the ground to your body.

The Earth has an intrinsic natural energy as do all living things. Walking barefoot on dirt, grass, sand, and rock transfers surface electrons into our bodies. This process not only makes us feel better mentally but also can positively affect us in the physical sense as well.

Our ancestors spent most of their time outdoors engaging in this process daily, whether intentional or not. It’s no wonder our modern world with all the hustle and bustle (not to mention the invention of shoes) leaves us dealing with more ailments, fatigue, auto immune disease, and mental disorders than our ancestors ever had.

We learned in science class that electrons have a negative charge. The electrons covering the Earth’s surface are also negatively charged. When these electrons are taken up into our bodies, a stable electrical environment is created.

Let’s take a further look into why this practice is so good for you.
