Law of Attraction for Beginners

A person’s innermost thoughts shape their beliefs and outlook on life. But what if our thoughts hold even more power than that?


The Law of Attraction says that like energy attracts like energy. Or the energy of the types of thoughts we have attract life experiences of the same energy like a magnet.


So, for example, if you are prone to negative self-talk and thoughts, then the energy of these thoughts will attract negative experiences and vice versa that can affect every facet of your life.

How to use the Law of Attraction in your favor.


Obviously, if you are already by nature a positive thinker you are already on the right path and any positive habits you incorporate into your life will only make things better.


However, if you are someone more prone to looking at the glass half empty, it may take some time to change your natural disposition.


Either way, trying some of these principles can help ensure you are attracting positive energy and experiences into your life.


Start a gratitude journal.


When you look for the good in life, you can usually find it if you look hard enough. For some people, this comes naturally. For others, it takes a bit more work.


Starting a practice of journaling what you are thankful for has a way of re-training our brain to not only look on the bright side but to be more thankful for each and every blessing in our life.

Halt negative thinking in its tracks.


Sometimes simply having the ability to recognize negative thoughts is all you need to stop the behavior from going any further.


Try rewording your inner dialogue to find a positive spin on things. Or simply acknowledge your thought (we will all have some sort of negative thoughts at one time or another) and don’t assign it any emotional importance.


Set the intention to try better next time. Don’t beat yourself up if changing negative thoughts don’t happen overnight. It will take time and effort on your part, but slowly over time you should see improvement.


Practice using positive affirmations.


Positive affirmations are the practice of writing down and saying mantras of things you wish to be true about yourself.

For example, if you are an inspiring writer maybe you tell yourself: “I am a New York Times bestselling author.” Or if you have bad money management skills you could say: “I am a financially responsible person who saves and builds wealth.”


You get the idea.


The main thing is to repetitively say these things about yourself that you wish to be true. Over time you will start to believe this internal dialogue while attracting the energy necessary to make it happen.


It's just that simple!


Use these tips to use the Law of Attraction in your favor.


Attract what you want in life by thinking, speaking and emulating the things you want in life, in order to create the life you wish to live!


Remember to be careful as the opposite is also true. Switch your thinking, language and actions to counter any negative patterns and watch as life bends to your new reality!
